How do I trim transparent space from PNGs in bulk?
Open AutoTrim, drop your PNG files (hundreds or thousands at once), and click Trim. DTFKit scans each file's transparency, crops to the actual design, and streams everything into one zip. Files with no transparent border pass through untouched.
Do my files get uploaded to your servers?
No — never. All processing runs inside your browser on your own computer using Web Workers. This means no upload waits, no privacy concerns, and no file-size server limits. It also works great on slow internet connections.
Will my PNGs keep 300 DPI after trimming or mockup generation?
Yes. DTFKit reads the DPI metadata (pHYs) from your source files and writes it back into every output. A 300 DPI design stays 300 DPI — your print and press workflow keeps working exactly as before.
Can I use my own mockup templates instead of stock ones?
Yes — that is DTFKit's core difference from tools like Placeit. Upload your own product photos, draw print zones on them once (move, resize, rotate, opacity), and AutoMockup renders every design onto every template automatically.
How many files can I process at once?
DTFKit is built for volume: AutoFolder has been tested with 5,000+ files and AutoTrim with 2,200+ in a single run. Files are processed one at a time in a background thread, so memory stays flat and the page never freezes — even on modest computers.
Does it work on slow or old computers?
Yes. Because files are handled one at a time and output streams straight to disk, a slower computer just takes a bit longer — it will not crash or freeze. The progress bar keeps you informed the whole way, including the final zip step.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Edge give the best experience — output streams directly to your disk with no size limits. Firefox and Safari also work using standard downloads (recommended under ~1.5 GB per zip).
Is DTFKit really free? What will it cost later?
There is a genuinely free plan: all 5 tools with daily limits (25 mockups/day, 50 trim files/day, 50 folder files/day, 20 PDF files/day, 1 gang sheet/day). Pro is $19/mo or $190/year (2 months free) and makes every tool unlimited, adds a free 22×50-inch gang sheet each month, and gives 25% off print sheets. What is a DTF gang sheet?
A DTF gang sheet is a single large sheet of DTF (direct-to-film) transfer film onto which many separate designs are arranged, or "ganged", together so they print in one pass. Sellers use gang sheets to fit dozens of orders onto one roll instead of printing each design on its own sheet, which cuts both film waste and printing cost.
How do gang sheets save money on DTF printing?
DTF film and printer time are charged largely by area. Packing designs tightly onto one gang sheet — with minimal gaps between them — means you pay for far less blank film than printing designs individually. DTFKit nests designs with human-tight packing specifically to squeeze the used length of the roll as short as possible.
What DPI should DTF designs be?
300 DPI is the standard for DTF printing. At 300 DPI a design prints at crisp, full detail at its true physical size. DTFKit preserves the 300 DPI metadata of your source files through every tool and exports gang sheets at 300 DPI, so your artwork prints at the size and sharpness you intend.
What file format is best for DTF printing?
A transparent PNG at 300 DPI is the best all-round format for DTF. The transparency defines exactly where film and white underbase are laid down, and PNG keeps edges clean without compression artifacts. DTFKit works with transparent PNGs throughout and exports gang sheets as 300 DPI transparent PNG.
How do I turn Etsy orders into a print-ready gang sheet?

Do I need to install any software?
No. DTFKit runs entirely in your web browser — there is nothing to download or install, and it works on Windows, Mac and Chromebook. Chrome and Edge give the smoothest experience because output can stream directly to your disk.
Can I sell the gang sheets I build?
Today the builder prepares print-ready gang sheets for your own printing or your print provider. A built-in option to buy a finished gang sheet as a print, straight from the builder, is on our roadmap and will arrive after the subscription launch.
Does DTFKit remove image backgrounds?
Not yet — that is an AI feature on our roadmap. AutoTrim crops away the transparent border around a design (the empty space), but it does not erase a solid or photographic background. For DTF work your designs should already have transparent backgrounds.
